Keeping lamps in step without the cloud

Local Network Sync makes lamps on the same Wi-Fi follow each other: switch one on, change its brightness, effect or colours, and the others do the same.

  1. On each lamp, open the Sync tab and press Turn on under Local Network Sync.
  2. Tick Enable on boot if it should be on every time the lamp starts.

Local sync and the cloud's group sync do the same job in two ways, so a lamp does one or the other: when a group syncs through the cloud, local sync is switched off on its lamps.

Local Network Sync is WLED's own sync, as it comes with WLED. It sends a change to the other lamps when it happens, and lines up their effects only at that moment - so over time moving effects, and random ones above all, can drift apart. The cloud's group sync does more: with Sync Random Seed it keeps every lamp on the same effect clock and the same random numbers all the time, so every effect shows the same picture on every lamp.
