Stripe, Crystal, Cube and Panel

One firmware runs all of these lights. The first time one starts, it asks what it is - see What kind of light it is - and you can change that later in its light setup.

KindWhat it isNamed like
StripeA run of LEDs, any length - or up to four runs, each on a pin of its ownStripe-7D3F
CrystalTwo parts, each with a look of its own: the crystal and its baseCrystal-7D3F
Cube 4×4, 5×5 or 8×8Six faces of 16, 25 or 64 LEDsCube-7D3F
PanelA flat matrix - one panel or severalPanel-7D3F

Until it has been told what it is, a light is called Trip-Light- and four characters, like Trip-Light-7D3F.

Parts

These lights can be divided into parts - up to eight - that each show their own effect, palette and colours. A crystal comes as two: the Crystal and the Base. A stripe of several runs comes as one part per run - Stripe 1, Stripe 2 and so on. A cube can be one part, its top, sides and bottom, or each face; a panel light one part, one per panel, or parts you draw. You name and change them in the light setup.

On the lamp's page, a light with more than one part has a button for each above the colours and the effects - see Using a lamp. The cloud panel has the same buttons in Effects & colour.

The crystal

Every spike of the crystal has an LED of its own, starting at the topmost and spiralling down. The base is lit from its core, so its colours flow into each other. The crystal and the base can be on one data pin or on two.

The cube

  • On a cube, the effect list has effects made for it, which run through the whole cube: 3D Plasma, 3D Noise, 3D Sweep, 3D Fire, 3D Ripples, 3D Bounce, 3D Spin and 3D Edge Run.
  • WLED's 2D effects run round the cube's sides and over its edges onto the top and the bottom - with the whole cube as one part. So on a cube, the effect list - on the lamp's page and in the cloud panel - marks them with a cube, and its filter for them says 3D.
  • Peek on the lamp's page shows the cube in 3D, with its LEDs as they are. Drag it to turn it. The cloud panel draws it the same way.

Before it shows a clean picture, each of its six panels has to be on the right face and turned the right way: see Where each panel is.

The panel

A panel light is one flat matrix or several panels side by side. It plays WLED's 2D effects. Each panel's size, how many there are and where each one is are set in the light setup.

Battery

A light with a battery shows its level and how long it has left, like every lamp with one - see Battery. Its capacity is set under Battery on the lamp's settings page.
