Community presets

The Community tab on the Presets & Palettes page shows what everyone with an account has shared, on two tabs of its own: Presets and Palettes. Each has a search at the top and the cards under it. Every preset has a card with a lamp showing it, its name and short description, the username of whoever shared it and its stars. The card names the kind of light the preset is for, and draws it as that light. A preset that plays one of a lamp's own palettes brings the palette with it.

Besides its look, name and description, a shared preset shows only the username of the account that shared it. Like every preset, it carries no brightness.

Sharing a preset

  1. On the My Presets tab, open More on the preset and choose Share….
  2. Give it a name and, if you like, a short description.
  3. Choose Share.

Each look is on the Community tab once: if a preset with the same settings is there already - shared by anyone, under any name - Share… tells you so instead.

On the Community tab your own presets say Yours. Edit… changes the name and description, or stops sharing.

A preset is shared as it is at that moment: changing or renaming it on My Presets afterwards does not change the shared one. Deleting it from My Presets leaves the shared one where it is - stop sharing it first if it should go too.

Playlists cannot be shared - share the presets they play instead.

Palettes

The Palettes tab shows the palettes everyone has shared. Share one of yours from the My Palettes tab with Share… in its More. Everything else works as for presets: stars, search, Try on…, and Save to my palettes, which keeps it on your Palettes tab. Each gradient is on the page once.

Stars

Give a preset one to five stars with the stars on its card. Choose the same number again to take your stars back. The card shows the average and how many people voted. Your own presets cannot be rated.

When a preset stops being shared, its stars go with it.

Finding presets

  • Search names, descriptions and usernames with the box at the top.
  • With presets for more than one kind of light, the filter beside it shows All lights or one kind.
  • Order the list by Top rated or Newest, or pick My own to see only the presets you shared. Colour sorts them by the colours they show, and Speed - slow or fast first - by how much they move; the Palettes tab has Colour too. The order is remembered on each device.
  • Preview plays a preset on its card. Live previews at the top plays all of them at once. It starts as set under Live previews on by default in Account settings, and flipping it here is remembered on each device.

Keeping one

Save to my presets copies the preset to your My Presets tab, for the kind of light it was shared for. If you have one with the same settings already, it is not saved twice.

Copy to a light… puts it straight on one of your lamps, as on My Presets - converted for it if the lamp is another kind of light, with the same choices.

Remix opens the preset in the effect designer as a new preset of your own, for the same kind of light, named after it with "remix" - change what you like and Save it to My Presets. The shared one stays as it is. On the Palettes tab, Remix does the same in the palette designer.

Trying one on a lamp

Try on… plays the preset on one of your lamps for 30 seconds, or on a whole group that is synced in the cloud:

  1. Choose Try on… on the preset.
  2. Pick the lamp or group.
  3. Choose Try it.

The card counts down while it plays, and Stop ends it early. Afterwards the lamp goes back to what it showed before - the preset it was playing, or its effect, palette and colours. If you change the lamp yourself while it plays, it keeps your change.

Only lamps that are online can be picked. A group kept in step with other people's groups through Shared Sync is left out, so a preset you try never shows up on anybody else's lamps.
