Shared Sync
Shared Sync lets other groups follow what one of your cloud-synced groups shows - its brightness, on and off, effect and its settings, palette, colours and timing, and whether its lamps play to sound (Audio reactive) or to Ableton Link. Presets and the lamps' other settings stay with each lamp.
It works between your own groups too: share a group with My groups only to keep, for example, the lamps at home and the ones at work in step.
Every shared group shows a lamp beside its name with what it plays right now. It shows a still picture; Preview plays it, and Live previews at the top of the page plays them all. It starts as set under Live previews on by default in Account settings, and flipping it here is remembered on each device.
Sharing a group
- Under Share a group, pick the group.
- Choose who can follow it:
- My groups only - only your own other groups,
- Chosen accounts - your groups and the accounts you add by username,
- Public - anyone with an account can see its name, your username and what it shows, and follow it.
- Choose Share.
Your shares are listed under Your shared groups. For each one you can change who can follow it, add or remove accounts, see which groups follow it, let their owners change the look or keep them read only, have one of your own groups follow it, and Stop sharing at any time.
Following a group
Groups shared with you by name are under Shared with you, public ones under Public groups. Under Follow with, pick which of your groups should follow it and press Follow.
A following group shows the shared look on all its lamps. You can always switch your own lamps on and off and set their brightness - in the panel, or at one of the lamps, and the rest of your group follows. That holds until the shared group next changes its brightness or switches: then your lamps take its brightness again, or its on or off. Everything else is read only, unless the owner lets you change the look too - Audio reactive and Ableton Link included, which come from the shared group. The lamps' own pages lock the same buttons, with the reason under them. Unfollow ends it - your lamps keep what they show at that moment.
Parts of lights
A crystal's base, a cube's faces: each part of a light can go its own way. Under Parts of lights, every light of yours with more than one part lists its parts, each with a choice:
- With its group - the part follows its group, as the rest of the light does. This is how every part starts.
- Not synced - keeps its own look - changes to the group do not reach it.
- Follows a shared group - one of yours, one shared with you, or a public one. The part shows what that group shows - effect, palette, colours and speed. The light's brightness and on and off stay its own.
Choose Save under the light. A share that parts of your lights follow lists them under Parts of your lights following it, each with Unfollow to send it back to its group. In a light's Effects & colour, such a part is marked on its button and says what it follows when you choose it.
